I then deleted them off the Google Apps account, and copied them back from the iCloud account, just to make sure everything was preserved (send/receive dates, etc.) and it was. The messages and the folder structure were preserved and copied. I was able to select both Test 1 and Test 2 and drag them to my iCloud account. I created two folders on one of my Google Apps accounts: Test1 and Test 2, then nested folders Test 1A and Test 2A inside of each. While AirMail's transfer function didn't work (it will move messages, but not folders), plain old Apple Mail did. Let me attempt to move a set of folders using AirMail and I'll report back-no sense in you paying for it (even though it's only $2) if it won't do what you ask.ĮDIT: So, good news. I agree, re-creating something that massive would be a bear. I should've asked what sort of folder structure we're dealing with here.

Only thing that saves me is that PostBox has decent search capabilities, so even though I have many archive folders, functionally it doesn't affect PostBox much. Maybe not a problem for you since you have so many folders, but something to be aware of. It is extremely annoying, since I can't even store 1 years with of email in a given archive folder.
I archive my work emails every 3-4 months, and have to make new folders for archiving to due to PostBox's file size limit. I can't help specifically with your question, but I will warn you of one gotcha with PostBox that I have found: a limit on the size of the directory you are archiving to. Is there any way to get the IMAP folders into offline folders in a structured way? This is not a realistic solution as there are 10s of thousands of e-mails in an intricate folder structure. The only thing that works is creating an offline folder manually and then copying e-mails over. However, I cannot move the synchronised Gmail IMAP folders into offline "On My Mac" folders. I marked ALL Gmail folders for offline use, so the messages are downloaded on the Mac. Google allows you to export all your e-mails but unfortunately does not preserve the folder structure. Before doing this, I wish to transfer and save all my Gmail e-mails offline, "On my Mac". I am thinking about moving away from Gmail.
